The problem is the supply chain is now so compromised by many little players that pop up, sell cheap stuff, vanish.

The risk would mostly be from the range, not the reloading. The problem is bullets are intended to scrape pretty hard against the barrel to get them spinning. That inevitably causes lead dust and indoor ranges can be pretty dangerous because of it.

AFIAK only permitted in some old engines that were designed to need the lead.

The old mercury ones were a lot easier to read. And faster.

Just look at the boosters on the Shuttle--the cost to refurbish them after their dip in the ocean was almost as much as buying new. The real problem with DMCA is that in theory it's under penalty of perjury, but in practice it's completely ignored. What is really needs is statutory damages for bogus takedown requests.

Part of the problem with the DMCA is that the "perjury" clause only applies to "claiming that some IP exists", not "claiming that this violates the IP".

I don't know how anybody can look at those rusty metal pylons and not think their natural habitat is at home on top of a 40 year old white Toyota pickup with a suspension that long ago achieved sainthood. Like if I were looking to attract illegal immigrants, those pylons would be exactly what I would use. But then again isn't this just the standard fascist pattern? Propose a comically self-defeating solution to some problem, and build a tribal identity around aggressively denying the obvious. It's like the social justice preaching to the choir writ large.
