I don't see a reason to believe why she'd lie. Grok in the past year had a period where it related everything to white genocide, another period claiming it was mecha hitler etc. Nothing about Grok should be given the benefit of the doubt.
Realistically, the whole 'DEI is anti-merit discrimination' argument falls incredibly flat in the year of the current admin, where they openly and brazenly admit to both racially discriminating against individuals and casually committing sexism. Said argument should simply just be tossed away in the garbage where it belongs. Notably none of the people that act like they give a shit ever show up when the Supreme Court says it's completely okay to racially profile people or when the US government attempts to kick out otherwise fit members of the military. They're arguing like it's 2022, not 2025.
The PSF not taking the deal is the right play because as we've seen repeatedly over the past few months the current admin has zero issue using these things as leverage for harassment and politically motivated gain, which never ends no matter how much you try and appease them.
How about they spend that fucking money on funding food stamps or any of the other programs affected by the shutdown? If they can illegally move money elsewhere then they can do so for making sure people can eat. I'm going to need to start sending money out of my savings to support my parents because this administration is so inept that they're taking away benefits that our tax dollars have already paid for.
> Can you give some examples of this happening in real life?
Austin had a local rideshare app that entered the scene when Uber/Lyft left the area because the city passed a law it failed to propagandize against called RideAustin. Non-profit, worked really well and paid well. When Uber and Lyft came back, they heavily subsidized the cost of doing business in Austin by both arbitrarily lowering prices and heavily juicing rewards for drivers. Conveniently, when RideAustin shut down because most drivers and riders had moved onto either app, these rewards started getting clawed back and prices went way back up.
> Their message for the last ten years (plus or minus some) has been that if you think that an unborn baby deserves legal protection, if you don't think that trans people belong in womens' restrooms and on womens' sports teams, if you don't think that gay marriage is a good idea, then you are an irredeemable moral leper, and their goal is a complete destruction of your culture. If you're, say, poor and white and blue-collar, they still are totally against you, even though you're the people that they have, historically, represented.
The opposite of your point is that I recall the GOP frequently calling anyone in favor of abortions murderers, people who are gay or transgender pedophiles and that non-whites are destroying our nation. This isn't even a recent phenomenon either, this was all stuff I heard decades ago just slightly less overt.
Mind you, I don't disagree that the Democratic Party is a complete waste, because they are. But you're arguing simultaneously that they had toxic core principles which alienated their voting base, but the reality is that they've never had any principles at all. They've had no issue for as long as I've been alive negotiating and watering down their platform into absolutely nothing for the sake of trying to cater to the people who vote for the GOP which is the actual reason why we're here today. And their plans for the future mostly involve doing the same thing: making concessions on abortion, throwing minorities under the bus etc for the sake of trying to appeal to people that will sooner vote for Bootstomper Jr provided that they make a pinky promise that they won't stomp on their head too hard.
It always bugs me when I see people saying "unborn baby" - it's a foetus if it hasn't been born. There are exactly zero unborn babies getting killed by abortion services as they don't become babies until they are born.

Yes, and they attract independent voters with that. (Though a big reason is that the GOP has exceptional information dominance - they can convince a large part of the public of whatever they want to say; the Dems are effectively silenced.)
This entire admin functions like giving the worst posters on a forum unbridled power. The only thing they care about is owning their perceived enemies. When you look at it that way, the fact that all of them behave like children and make the dumbest decisions possible all make sense.
What's cause and what's effect there? The fact that they have the emotional (and sometimes intellectual) intelligence of 6 years olds means what they mostly care about is the "pwnage"...
The rationale I've seen elsewhere is that it saves money. It means you don't need to go to the effort of downloading, storing and updating your copy of the database. You can offload all of the externalities onto whatever site you're scraping.
If they destroy the relatively high-trust internet, the low-trust replacement will require digital ID for every client, with non-neutral traffic price varying by {business digital ID, content}. No more free geese, even to check whether there is a golden goose worthy of payment.
The funny thing about trying to apply this logic in reality is that it often breaks down in ways that can be really, really bad.
I've brought up this example many times before, but Measles is a great example. Measles resets your immune system and breaks immunological memory for anywhere up to three years after having recovered from it. But now we have a bunch of people that assume any diseases can simply be dealt with in a natural way by your immune system thanks to the logic above, and well, the consequences of that are becoming clear.
By most metrics we're in a recession as many of our state economies are crashing due to the psychotic tariff policy and economic decisions by the current admin. Some places are temporarily avoiding the fallout because the ramifications of breaking our ability to manufacture and import stuff is going to take months to fully hit and the rest of our economy is propped up by AI psychosis.
With the job market being the shittiest I've seen and more ladders being kicked out than ever I think this crash will end up being possibly one of the most violent ones. We might see a return to the early 1900s era of union vs corporate violence as corporations have gotten more brazen than ever to try and stop any sort of concerted effort by labor.
