Umberto Eco's List of the 14 Common Features of Fascism (openculture.com)

Fascism thrives on dividing society into an idealized "us" versus a demonized "them." This binary worldview positions groups under existential threat, requiring extraordinary measures and leadership to survive...

Listen to him today and it's exactly that.

Isn't that too traditional of a list?

Sometimes I feel that this list is just a syncretic body of knowledge built on top of previous anti-fascistic thinkers.

A numbered list of items? Jeez, that is a very simple way of pushing an idea forward to a lot of people, isn't it?

You know, nevermind. I won't think too much about it. Let the women do it this time.

This list does recirculate routinely, and is always a good refresher...

And is always weirdly unpopular among a certain segment of the population.

“All the Nazi or Fascist schoolbooks made use of an impoverished vocabulary, and an elementary syntax, in order to limit the instruments for complex and critical reasoning.”

Hmmm. Not sure that holds water in current society. For example, here are 2 people talking about AI for 35 seconds each. Both have Juris Doctorate degrees.
