I really think if you’re still “at it” after a billion dollars than you are basically mentally ill. Nothing else can explain the stuff these people say and do.


Maybe. But I can also see legitimate reasons to be at it - maybe that’s all they know to do, or how they genuinely feel happy. I wouldn’t be at it. But then again there’s a 0% chance for me to be in that position.

The article makes a connection to China’s social credit score system but AI analysis of video feeds doesn’t have to become that. For example, if you commit a crime, being held accountable for that per the law seems reasonable. But punishing someone for speaking against the government by taking away their access to public transit - that’s the type of dystopian thing the China social credit score system enables, and type of oppression is independent of video feeds.
